Lowtown Studios brought both artistry and heart to Brown Girls Do Ballet, an online campaign video produced for Visit Fort Worth. The short film tells the story of Ta’Kiyah Wallace-McMillian, a mother from Forth Worth, Texas who set out to create more opportunities and representation in ballet for girls of color from her city. The initiative has since grown into a national movement. Through impactful storytelling and striking visuals captured around the city, the piece invites viewers to step into the pointe shoes of these young dancers and celebrates their strength and grace. Last year, the project earned the team a w3 Gold Award for Video: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
The w3 Awards celebrates digital creativity that elevates every voice. Mark your calendar – the deadline has been extended. Your last chance to enter is July 25th.
