ENTRIES ARE CLOSED | STAY TUNED FOR THE WINNERS ANNOUNCEMENT
We’re excited to amplify the great work we see each year by sharing behind-the-scenes stories from last season’s w3 Award-winning projects in our new short-form video series The 3ws. Each episode is centered around three “W” questions (Who, What, When, Where, Why, Ho[W] ) answered by the project’s lead. Watch for insights into how each team approached the work and what it took to deliver winning results.
The premiere of The 3ws features two episodes showcasing the excellent work of digital agency YML (a Code and Theory company). Founded in 2009, YML has worked with some of tech’s top companies, including Apple, Google, Facebook and Paypal on digital projects in website design, mobile app development, and UX interface design. With six studios and 500 employees, YML is poised to deliver results to start-ups and tech giants alike. Their work with “future Fortune 500 companies” has been shown to increase their client’s valuation and prime the way to IPO.
Episode One showcases YML’s mobile website design for grocery retailer, Albertsons. The project won 2022 Golds in Mobile Apps & Sites – Mobile Site Redesign and Mobile Features – Best Visual Design – Function last year, plus 2022 Silvers in Mobile Apps & Sites – Food & Beverage and Mobile Features – Best User Interface.
Albertsons came to YML seeking a modernized ecommerce experience for their shoppers. In only six months, YML delivered a re-designed site using a scalable design system which reduced Albertsons overhead by integrating 10+ disparate apps into one. The results for Albertsons were astronomical: a 248% increase in digital sales, 51% increase in registration rate and a 93% improved membership retention rate.
But wait, there’s more: Because YML won 13 awards last year, we were curious to learn about more of their work. Episode Two features YML’s work for Polestar, an electric vehicle company backed by Volvo. The website design for Polestar was honored last year with three 2022 Gold awards for General Websites – Automotive, Website Features – Best User Experience and Website Features – Best Visual Appeal – Aesthetics. While working on the project, YML was allowed to test drive Polestar’s vehicles themselves– a key value proposition Polestar offers its own customers. After the website redesign went live, Polestar saw increased time on page by 88%, increased car configuration starts by 75% and increased test drive sign ups by 190%.
There are more The 3ws episodes to come featuring past winners Enüstkat Interactive and Mighty Nice.
